Battle City Remake is a free arcade game for PC coming from indie developer Bad Mouse Digital Art. It's a fan remake of a classic top-down tank shooter that came out for the Family Computer in 1985. It contains all the original levels and introduces various graphical upgrades and modern gameplay options.

Similar to Tank Stars Battle and Pocket Tanks, Battle City Remake provides fun arcade-style gameplay, staying true to the original. Tank battle

The original Battle City was part of a series of popular multi-directional shooter games developed by Namco and revolved around tank battles. In it, you control a lone tank as it aims to defeat 20 enemies to clear the stage while defending your base from attacks and avoiding getting hit themselves. Outside of a few console ports, it never really had a true successor or sequel. Here then comes Battle City Remake.

As its name suggests, Battle City Remake is a revision of the classic shooter that aims to bring the classic title to modern standards. It includes all 35 original levels upgraded to 3D with an added touch of vibrancy. Each map features all kinds of obstacles and terrain you need to take into account as you battle enemies. Some red-colored tanks give out various power-ups that provide bonuses and buffs.

There's also a two-player mode, so you can play with friends and family, as well as customizable graphics and controls to tailor the experience to your liking. There's even a built-in map editor to create your own levels that you can share with the community online. All that said, just know that this is an unofficial remake before diving in.
