Barmani Choge is a Hausa singer and composer. She became known as “Amada”, which means “lady” in Hausa. Choge was born in Funtua, a town in northern Nigeria. Her family was from the Shawa tribe. In her childhood, she lived with her grandmother. When she was young, her mother left home, and she spent her teenage years living with her sister and brother. In her teenage years, she started singing in local clubs and conferences, and she also started writing her own songs. She started her music career in the 1990s.

She was known for her hit songs, which included “Wakar Duwai Wai”, “Ku Kama Sana’a”, “Sakarai Bata da Wayo”, “Gwanne Ikon Allah”, and “Barmani Choge”. She also recorded and released other albums. She had a number of successful songs, and her album “Safer Alini” was the best-selling album in Nigeria.

She died on Saturday, April 9, 2019 in Funtua, Nigeria. She was 66 years old.
