Ball Up: Knife Racing is a free app for mobile devices. It is a game in which the player must throw knives to keep a ball bouncing upwards. The goal of the game is to reach a certain height with the knives while attempting to prevent the ball from bursting on the knives.

The genre of this game can be classed as casual. The game's simple controls make it ideal for picking up and playing in short breaks or for killing time like other casual games, such as 8 Ball Pool - Miniclip. There is also a competitive element where the player can battle against other times.

Throw knives at a tower

The premise of the game is somewhat unusual in that the player must throw knives at a tall tower. The knives stick into the tower at regular distances, where they form a platform for a ball to bounce up alongside the tower.

They only do this successfully if the timing is right, however. Failure to get the right timing results in the ball bursting on the knives.

Simple controls and competitive play

Knife-throwing is initiated by holding down a finger on the screen of the mobile device, and knives will be continuously thrown until the finger is released. It is also possible to play competitively with the competing run being shown alongside the player's run.

A simple but addictive game

Ball Up: Knife Racing is a game with addictive gameplay but very little content beyond the base game mode. Players looking for a simple game to kill some time may find that here, but players looking for something more in-depth will be disappointed.
