AVI ReComp - Free AVI recompression tool
AVI ReComp is free software that enables you to recompress AVI files. This can be useful if you are having trouble opening AVI files with certain media players.
Get AVI files working on your DVD player
One of the main uses of AVI ReComp is to enable you to play your videos on standalone DVD players. Certain GMC or Qpel functions prevent this, but by recompressing your videos you can remove those functions and get your videos to play.
AVI recompression made easy
With a simple to use interface, inputting a file and getting a clean one out, AVI ReComp is a very user friendly way of preparing your videos for use on DVD players and more.

- Only available for Windows but most recent version officially supported is Vista
- Some advanced options confusing with little help available
- Only supports Xvid codec for recompression
