Atlas of Danish Fungi is an Android application designed for mushroom enthusiasts living in Denmark. The app is a part of the project Svampeatlas 2.0, a collaborative effort between Center for Makroecology, Evolution and Climate (CMEC) at the Natural History Museum of Denmark (SNM, University of Copenhagen), Danish Mycological Society and MycoKey. The app has over 1000 active users who have reported sightings of over 700,000 observations, thus increasing our collective knowledge overall.

The app enables users to identify mushroom species near them using image recognition technology and upload their observations for validation by the community and leading experts on fungi in Denmark. Users can also find detailed descriptions and images of over 3000 Danish mushroom species and create their own digital mushroom collection for offline usage.

The app can be used by anyone, regardless of their location, and is a great tool for learning about mushroom growth throughout the world. However, note that the automatic image recognition technology is not always precise, and users are advised to use the system in collaboration with an expert and not rely on the suggested identifications if they wish to eat the mushrooms they have found.
