Associations: Word Puzzle Game is a free puzzle app in which the player must clear a grid of words. This is done by working out which words are associated and joining them together. The task is harder than it sounds.

This is one of many word-based games available, similar to Word Association and Bookworm. The object this time around is to see the categories that link words together by using a board game strategy to ensure that you make the right moves.

Find the related words

Each level of Associations: Word Puzzle Game opens on a grid consisting of forty words. Although the words are scattered randomly between them, they consist of multiple groups. For example, some are names of fruit, such as banana and mango, while others are US states, like Indiana, Maine, and Arizona. Your job is to draw lines connecting the related words.

Merge the categories

The lines you draw can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. Once connected, the words will merge together into a single block. You can then slide these merged blocks together using more lines. The level is cleared once you have joined all categories. This might involve clicking a button to add more words to the grid.

Tricky puzzles

Associations: Word Puzzle Game seems easy at first, but there are certain areas where you might slip up. One is in vocabulary. For example, if you come across the word "Ppenny," you'll have to work out from the other letters if it refers to a girl's name or a currency.

A game for all ages

Another way you might lose is by making the wrong moves and finding that the words have ended up in the wrong places that can no longer be merged. Associations: Word Puzzle Game is a good puzzle game for all ages. It's educational for kids but still taxing enough for adults.
