Assistive Express by Kiat Ng is an affordable Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) device that aims to assist people with difficulty in speech. The app is designed to be simple and efficient, allowing users to express their views and thoughts in the most effective manner possible with natural-sounding voices. The biggest challenge for such users when using AAC devices is the number of key strokes or hits required to construct any sentences. However, Assistive Express overcomes this challenge with features like landscape and portrait modes, word prediction, and adaptive learning of new vocabulary into the word prediction list. The app also includes a favorites list for commonly used sentences, adjustable volume and speed for voices, and self-learning "next word" prediction. Assistive Express is currently only designed for the English Language and supports iOS8 and newer.
