ArcaniA is an action-packed role-playing game set in a high fantasy universe. Developed by THQ Nordic, this standalone spin-off game features a young man from the island of Feshyr who becomes the new Nameless Hero. His sole purpose is to avenge his family and save the world from the madness of the king, Rhobar III.

The game's open world is divided into several regions that are unlocked by completing quests for non-playable characters. The world is vast, and each region serves as an open world in itself. The gameplay is similar to the original Gothic trilogy, with a strong emphasis on action. The game has three character classes: Warrior, Mage, or Ranger. The protagonist levels up automatically, but it is up to the player to distribute their XP to specific skills. Unlike the previous Gothic games, ArcaniA doesn't use sleep to skip time and restore health.
