Amateur Surgeon 4 is the fourth installment in Adult Swim’s gleefully absurd surgery simulation series. It brings back the infamous Dr. Bleed on a bizarre journey that spans over 100 frantic surgical levels, blending revived content from previous games with fresh, twisted puzzles and a bizarrely compelling storyline that involves a lot of blood and gore.

Amateur Surgeon 4’s gameplay centers around “tool-based surgery,” using everything from pizza cutters and chainsaws to vacuums and lighters on increasingly ridiculous patients, ranging from humans to robots, giant squids, and more. You tap to select a tool, swipe to operate, and race against the clock to complete each procedure, aiming for high scores and stars. 

What sets it apart is its gleefully gross, over-the-top comedy. The game revels in silliness, lighting lungs on fire, stapling rib cages, and using household items as surgical instruments. The dark comedic tone is relentless, and delightfully, it often hits the mark. However, it can have difficulty spikes. Moreover, it has microtransactions and the humor may not appeal to everyone.
