Alt News: Fact-Checking App for Android

Fact-checking before believing in something has never been easier, thanks to Alt News. It is an Android app developed by the Indian fact-checking website that aims to help users fact-check misinformation that goes viral on social media platforms in India. It is a free application that falls under the category of Education & Reference and the subcategory of Magazines & Newspapers.

The app allows users to search for images and videos against the database of stories that have already been fact-checked by Alt News and provides instant fact-checks. Users will also receive notifications when new images and videos are fact-checked. The app prioritizes fact-checks based on the potential negative impact of the fake news and does not fact-check frivolous content such as viral memes, Bollywood gossip, and funny videos.
