Now: the driver will pick you up right now, even if you are not at your doorstep, and you will be charged the normal rate for the route.

Later: the driver will pick you up at a later time, and you will be charged for the time you have spent waiting.

The standard rate is based on the distance of the route and the time you have spent waiting for the driver.

If you want to have the opportunity to decide when to get a taxi and be sure that you are not overcharged, you should use the standard fare.
