Rather than alerting you on a set time frame or schedule, Al-Shafie plays your selected Arabic audio notification every time you use your device — reminding you to spend a few minutes in prayer. You can even set the notification to go off even if your device is in silent mode. 

However, foreign language translations of said notifications are unavailable. Aside from a prayer counter, the app includes a statistics section that presents data on how many times you’ve prayed to the Prophet, represented in graph form. Other features include photos, short prayer videos, and a language setting.

With notifications that play whenever the user opens their device, the Al-Shafie app reminds practicing Muslims to pray to the Prophet Muhammad despite their busy schedules. However, this program could be further improved if it included a timer or a scheduling system.
