Air Xonix is a free arcade game for mobile by Delico Games and is a remake of the classic action puzzler, Xonix. It is a 3D reimagining introducing modern graphics. It also injects a different twist on the original's retro themes while remaining true to its tried and tested core gameplay mechanics.

Fly and capture

In Air Xonix, you pilot an advanced flying craft akin to a helicopter and are tasked with exploring and expanding your territory by laying down borders in a closed loop. Cover enough area before time runs out to proceed to the next level. However, there are orbs constantly roaming about and will hit you mid-draw if you're not careful.

As you progress through levels, the difficulty also ramps up with defense turrets that bombard you with missiles and mines that randomly explode. Boxes will occasionally drop from the sky with extra life, though. Experience 35 classic levels and 10 new ones. Sadly, the game suffers from frequent lag, which, given the nature of its gameplay, is detrimental to the experience.

A remake done right

Air Xonix brings improvements across the board and is a worthy successor to the original. From its updated graphics to its challenging gameplay, both new and returning players will have a lot to like about. Jump right in and see for yourself. Highly recommended.
