Afallon is a role-playing game developed and published by Stargazing Interactive. In this single-player RPG, players create their character by choosing a race and class depending on their preference. They can then explore a vast open-world filled with quests and dungeons, offering an expansive experience that follows the MMO formula.

Affalon’s world is dynamic and continuously evolving. The player’s actions influence it and have lasting effects. As your power grows, so do the world’s hostile inhabitants. New and stronger enemies start to appear. This makes the world truly feel alive, immersing the player completely as they go about their journey.

Take your hero on a perilous journey

Affalon plunges brave adventurers into a high-fantasy world, with dangers lurking around every corner. Like with all MMOs, players can take on quests. However, they aren’t just completed for the sake of rewards, but rather, quests also heavily impact the world — for better or for worse, as they leave permanent changes like altering camps and settlements, to name a few. They also can unlock new paths for you.

The game doesn’t shy away from having a well-designed dungeon system, complete with several bosses to defeat, as well as unique layouts and distinct themes to explore. For players looking to test their mettle further, they can use Challenge Stones, which offer trials such as wave survival and timed platforming challenges. However, the controls are in need of further polishing. At its current state, it can negatively affect your experience with combat.

In terms of exploration, the world is wonderfully handcrafted with rich, diverse zones, composed of lush green fields, rainy forests, and eerie swamps; it's not your typical copy-pasted generic maps, and you can always find something interesting while exploring. Players can also gather a variety of herbs, ore, and other materials out in the world, which can be used to craft gear and consumables. 

A promising title that needs more polishing

Overall, Afallon is a promising RPG that needs some further improvements. As of the moment, you can only choose from two races, which limits your creativity in character creation for an MMO. The movement feels janky, and the UI looks clunky with oversized designs. However, the content and idea had already been set, and with a few tweaks here and there, the game can definitely compete with well-known MMORPGs.
