This free technical seminar for marine professionals is designed to provide them with the latest information about the use of the technology called ECDIS (Electronic Controlled Document System). This new system is being developed by the British Hydrographic Office (BHO) to provide a safer and more efficient means of keeping track of documents and records in the maritime industry.

The BHO is responsible for the maintenance of the official maritime databases that contain the information that is required by the shipping industry to operate properly. With the introduction of ECDIS, the BHO will be able to improve the efficiency and accuracy of these databases.

In order for ECDIS to work properly, it needs to be connected to an Internet server. This is the main reason why we need to make this connection secure and protected.
