Adapt is a game designed to simulate the ever-changing environment that all life forms must navigate. To succeed, the players will guide their species as they find food, seek out habitable areas, and react to changing seasons and global climate. Adapt Prologue is the free demo game of Adapt. Here, players can experience a few minutes of the game and learn its mechanics. They can also get the hang of the gameplay. However, since this is a demo, expect a short runtime and a few problems. 

Create your own specie

Adapt Prologue plays the same as Adapt. In this game, you will control a species as it tries to live in a constantly changing world. As with other survival games, you will find food using different dietary strategies, find habitable environments, and adapt to the global climate. The catch here is that your competitors will be evolving alongside you. They are also vying for food and territory to ensure their survival. You can cooperate with them to increase your chances, or go alone. You can even use brute force to overpower threats. 

The players are responsible for creating the species they will control. You can use the customization option to modify the genetics and physical traits of your character. How you design your species will determine your evolution strategy. Numerous adaptations allow diverse play-style and physical characteristics. Moreover, you will have a wide map that you can explore. You will attempt to survive virtually anywhere, including mountains and seas. This adds to the difficulty of the game. 

Adapt Prologue features dynamic day and night as well as seasonal cycles to create a realistic changing world. However, as this is a demo game, it is far from perfect. The character creation alone is really problematic, making it difficult to design the species you have in mind. If you get past that hurdle and get to the actual game, you will constantly face lags. Even adjusting the settings does not help. Finally, the game lacks a tutorial. You have to learn the gameplay as you go. 

Needs more work

Adapt Prologue is a great way to excite players about the upcoming full Adapt game. With this,  you can see how the game will look like and even get experience it for yourself. However, it seems like the developers could use the time to polish their creations.  There are a lot of things that require enhancement, including character creation and gameplay. At the moment, it is not clear how it is supposed to be played.
