A multiplayer roguelike deck-builder game

Across the Obelisk is a multiplayer role-playing and deck-building game that is set in a fantasy world of men and monsters. Featuring roguelike elements for its gameplay, it provides players with a unique and different experience each playthrough. Developed by Dreamsite Games, it’s available on PCs and gaming consoles.

Much like Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, Roguebook, Monster Train, and Gordian Quest, Across the Obelisk features turn-based combat gameplay that emphasizes strategy and tactics. With a large roster of characters to choose from, players must plan wisely as they face a slew of deadly creatures and monsters on their journey.

Venture into the Obelisk

Across the Obelisk takes place in the dark fantasy world of Obelisk, a land filled with unknown riches and demons that roam around and terrorize villages. You will be commanding a team of four heroes who will defend against these fiery invaders. Choose from 16 unlockable characters to either play solo or online multiplayer and have friends control the three other members of your squad.

In addition, there are over 500 cards available to build your deck and upgrade for the battles that you will encounter. Combine them with more than 200 items you can equip your heroes with to create unique builds and take on specific types of enemies. Whether you play alone or with others, cooperation and proper execution of strategies will dictate how the battle will go.

Additionally, this game is built around procedurally generated levels that evolve and change with each playthrough. Complete quests to unlock more paths and discover hidden. Your choices matter as they will dictate how events will unfold on your journey, so there are many possible outcomes or endings to experience. With that said, however, the gameplay can be rather slow to the point where battles just feel like they're dragging too long

Offers new story pack, hero pack, and new features

With its updated properties, the game continues to improve its gameplay with its recent major update that brings players two new DLCs, one that focuses on a new hero and the other one on a new story: Across the Obelisk: Nenukil Engineer and Across the Obelisk: The Obsidian Uprising. In the Nenukil Engineer expansion, players can encounter a new hero called Nenukil, a dwarf character that has two abilities: Double Barrel and Mounted Cannon Traits. This character can change its skin in-game.

The Obisidian Uprising follows a new storyline where your team was sent on a mission in the past to an ancient city to revive the events of the Obsidian Uprising. Here, you need to collaborate with other heroes and investigate what went wrong in that city. There are only two endings in this new story pack: you’ll complete your mission and find your way home safe and sound or you’ll get stuck in an old city. Aside from these, there are also new items, new combos, and new cards for you to enjoy. Additionally, Nenukil’s damage scalability was also improved in the game’s latest patch update.

A must-try game for deck-building fans

The idea behind Across the Obelisk is a solid one, with plenty of characters to choose from and cards to build your perfect deck with. If you’re into card games, it’s a must-try game for solo gaming or with your friends. The game also offers challenging levels that can keep you engaged throughout hours of crafting your decks. In this game, every choice and decision you make matters as it will affect the outcomes or endings of your play.
