8-Bit Hordes is a real-time strategy game developed by Petroglyph, available on Xbox One. It is the latest addition to the 8-Bit series, and it is as fast-paced and friendly as its predecessor, 8-Bit Armies. The game takes place in a fantasy world where players can choose to play as either the Dark Orcs and their undead allies or the Humans, Dwarves, and Elves of the Lightbringers. The game's objective is to collect resources, build up and defend your base, amass your army, and ultimately crush your opponents.

The game offers a variety of modes, including offline single-player missions, two-player cooperative missions, AI skirmish mode, and player-vs-player multiplayer modes running on dedicated game servers. In addition, there are 24 offline campaign missions, 12 co-op missions, and 10 multiplayer/skirmish maps that support up to eight players online. The game features classic base-building mechanics that allow players to construct the ultimate lair from which to launch attacks against their foes. The environments are destructible and range from the underworld to cemeteries and haunted forests. The game's art style is fun and friendly, and it has an awesome new soundtrack by Frank Klepacki.
