2GIS beta is a free beta version of 2GIS, a navigation program. This app is used for getting around certain countries, which include Russia, the UAE, and Ukraine, to name a few. This makes it ideal for users who are traveling to these countries. However—should you travel to the United States or any non-2GIS-supported country—it’s recommended to download Google Maps. 

With 2GIS beta, you can locate the nearest gas stations, pharmacies, restaurants, and many more with a tap of a button. However, there are rare instances of the app crashing or slowly loading. 

Find the nearest establishment

Generally speaking, 2GIS beta works by typing a destination on the search bar or selecting any of the following categories: “Eat Out,” “Pharmacies,” “Places to Stay,” “Gas,” “ATMs,” “Car Service Centers,” “Dental Clinics,” and “Beauty.” Choosing one of the categories will prompt the app to generate a list of establishments or services you can go to. This list can be filtered according to “Nearby,” “Open,” “Rating,” and “Friends Were Here.” 

Moreover, the app also allows you to filter the search results by payment options, wheelchair accessibility, and many more. By utilizing its robust filter system, you’ll be able to find a restaurant or clinic that best suits your or your family’s needs. Whether you’re driving a car or commuting, this tool helps you find the most optimal routes to and from your two distant points.

Additionally, you can add your company or home address. As it works offline, you won’t have any trouble traveling from one location to another. Typing the name of a city lets you view its map coordinates, read a description of the place, and browse through users’ reviews and photos. Thankfully, issues regarding incorrectly uploaded images are addressed by the app, preventing travelers from getting misled during their travels.

If you’re traveling to Russia or the UAE, 2GIS beta is your best companion for your journey. Despite it being a beta version, it does an excellent job of finding the best traffic route and bringing you to all sorts of places—from the workplace to your favorite restaurants. However, be warned that not all countries are available in the app, so you may want to download an alternative GPS app.
