India is one of the most beautiful and richly-flavored countries in the world. Each year, on 26 January, we celebrate the festival of Republic, wherein we express our pride in being Indian and our dedication to the principles of justice and liberty.

The word “Republic” is derived from the Latin word for “Republic”. The concept of a republic is quite simple: it is a government by the people, for the people, and its purpose is to guarantee the rights of the people. A republic must be governed by a written constitution, which provides clear separation of powers between the federal and state governments, and divides the government’s powers in such a way that the government is committed to serving the will of the people.

A republic must have a freely elected head of state and government, who is responsible for leading the country to a peaceful political revolution, and who is a sign of the popular will of the people. The government of a country is normally composed of three branches: the executive, the legislative, and the judicial. The executive power of a country is derived from the will of the people expressed through the election of the president. The president is responsible for implementing the laws passed by the parliament, and is also responsible for leading the country to a peaceful political revolution. The judges, who are also members of the executive, are responsible for ensuring that the laws are implemented in a fair and just manner. The power of the judges is derived from the Constitution, which also delineates their responsibilities.

In India, we have a system of government known as “parliamentary democracy”.
